First baseman Ivy Griffin collected 2,821 hits in the minors between 1919 and 1942, with 416 2B, 189 SB and a .320 BA. He played for the Milwaukee Brewers of the American Association from 1922 to mid-1929, hitting .362 in 1923 and .335 in both 1925 and 1926. He played for the Little Rock Travelers in the Southern Association for three years (1930-1932), hitting .361 in 1930.
Griffin won four league championships and took five other teams to the finals series in his thirteen years of managing. He scouted for the Chicago Cubs from 1953 to 1957, briefly managing their Macon farm club in 1955 taking over for Pepper Martin.
