Israel is a minor baseball power. It has never competed in the All-Africa Games, Asian Games or European Championship nor has produced a major league player. However, it was invited to compete in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifying Tournament in 2012. One major league star, Ryan Braun is of Israeli descent. The Israel Baseball League was the first attempt at a circuit in the country.
