The Indios de Mayagüez (Mayaguez Indians) are the most successful team in the history of the Puerto Rican League. They have claimed 15 titles through 2007, winning it in 1948-1949, 1956-1957, 1962-1963, 1965-1966, 1977-1978, 1983-1984, 1985-1986, 1987-1988, 1991-1992, 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 2002-2003 and 2004-2005). They won the 1978 Caribbean Series, 1986 Caribbean Series, 1992 Caribbean Series and 1998 Caribbean Series. Founded in 1938, their record through 2005 was 1,910-2,087.
