The Huntsville Stars have been a member of the Southern League since 1985 when the club relocated from Nashville, TN. The Stars won league championships in 1985 and 1994 and were co-champion in 2001. Some of the team's most notable alumni include Jose Canseco and Terry Steinbach, and former big leaguer Don Mincher was the club's longtime owner and General Manager.
