Hunter Hill played in the majors from 1903-05, serving as a regular. He was in 86 games for the 1903 Browns, appeared in 58 games for the 1904 Browns before being traded in July, and then played in 77 games for the 1904 Senators. He finished up with 104 games for the 1905 Senators. He was primarily a third baseman.

Hill had previously been a star for the 1902 Corsicana Oil Citys, one of the great minor teams which went 87-23. Records are incomplete, but Hill hit around .360 in the portion of the season for which records have been found. Nig Clarke was a teammate.

After his major league days Hill played for years in the Eastern League and the Texas League, and managed for seven seasons in the Texas League.
