Hugh Campbell was the regular pitcher for the hapless 1873 Elizabeth Resolutes. Although he went 2-16, his ERA was good. The team was terrible at hitting, though - including Campbell, who hit only .149. His brother Mike Campbell, the team's first baseman, hit only .145.
One of the most similar players is Peek-A-Boo Veach, who also had a bad record with a good ERA.
