[edit] Biographical Information
After his playing career ended, Howie Bedell was a Kansas City Royals coach in 1984 and a member of the Seattle Mariners staff in 1988. In 1990-1991, Bedell was the Farm Director for the Cincinnati Reds. Howie Bedell ended Don Drysdale's scoreless innings streak (58 consecutive innings) in 1968 with a fifth-inning pinch-hit sacrifice fly on June 8 of that year.
