Pitcher Hoot Gibson played college baseball at Texas A&M University and was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 1977 amateur draft. He never signed with the Expos but played in the Atlanta Braves organization from 1981 to 1983. In 1989, he joined the St. Petersburg Pelicans of the Senior Professional Baseball Association.
