Father of Jack Doscher, John Henry "Herm" Doscher played six seasons in the majors and was also a major league umpire. He broke in as a player during the second year of the National Association, 1872.
Herm and Jack were the first father and son pro MLB players in history.
Herm played for London in 1877.
According to an article on March 26, 1883 in the "New York Times", Doscher was blacklisted in 1882.
