[edit] Biographical Information
The 1872 Brooklyn Atlantics played only 37 games that season, but used 8 players in right field. Jack McDonald was used the most, but was not on the team the whole season. Herb Worth, a Brooklyn boy, got into one game in July.
The Atlantics just could not settle on a right fielder. In 1873 they mostly used Bill Boyd, in 1874 they mostly used Jack Chapman, and in 1875 they used 19 different players in right field, with no one appearing more than 12 times. Of course, since the team went 2-42 that year, it is perhaps understandable that they were looking for solutions.
