Henry E. Wetzel (Buzz)

Infielder Buzz Wetzel began playing in 1906. His managing
career started in 1913 and lasted through 1933. His 1920 squad, the London Tecumsehs, finished with an 86-32 .729 record, giving them the honor of being ranked by baseball historians, Bill Weiss and Marshall Wright, number 52 in the top 100 Minor League
teams of the century.
Wetzel scouted for the Cleveland Indians in 1926 and 1929 to 1932.
Wetzel owned the Zanesville Grays in 1933-1936 and the Springfield Indians in 1937-1939. He also helped operate the Monessen Indians. He later became the Indians' farm director in the late 40's (1945-1949?) then scouted for the Indians in the 50's.
Wetzel's son, Damon, played football at Ohio State University and in the NFL in 1935-1936.
