[edit] Biographical Information
Heinie Sand belongs to that small group of players who always had at least 120 games and 400+ at-bats in every major league season played. He was mostly at shortstop with the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1920's, at a time when they weren't competitive for the pennant.
Sand is most famous for being the person that a couple Giants tried to bribe in 1924. Sand told the major league authorities about it, and it made headlines.
