[edit] Biographical Information
Third baseman Harry Wolverton is the only major leaguer to come out of Kenyon College. He played seven seasons in the majors, making his debut with the 1898 Orphans and hitting .327 for them in 13 games. His best year was probably with the 1903 Phillies when he hit .308 with 12 triples. When he managed the 1912 Highlanders he also played on occasion, hitting .300 exactly.
Before managing the Highlanders, Wolverton managed the Oakland Oaks in 1910-11. After his season with the Highlanders he went on to manage at Sacramento and San Francisco. Source: Harry Wolverton.
