[edit] Biographical Information
After his playing career ended, Harry Spilman was hitting coach for the Houston Astros from mid-2000 to 2004. He served in the same role with the Round Rock Express of the Pacific Coast League in 2005-2006. Spilman was the Astros' minor league field coordinator for two years. He also spent seven years as a minor league manager and hitting instructor in the Cleveland Indians organization, including managing the Burlington (NC) Indians from 1995 to 1997. In 2007, Spilman is the hitting coach of the Nashville Sounds.
Spilman is the son-in-law of Harley Grossman, cousin of Greg Walker, and his father Harry Sr., was a catcher in the Dodgers' system in 1952.
