[edit] Biographical Information
Harry Hulihan served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He pitched three years for Middlebury College, had a cup of coffee with the Boston Braves in 1922 and pitched amateur and semipro ball six years. In need of Tommy John surgery before its time, he was forced to retire in 1926. There is no record of his ever having pitched in the minor leagues. He sold real estate in Florida for a time and then began a long and successful career as a salesman and executive for Aetna Life Insurance Company in New York City for 30 years. He died at age 81 after a short illness and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland VT. There is no truth to the rumor that he is the father of Major Margaret Hoolihan of M*A*S*H*.
Hulihan pitched 7 games for the Boston Braves in 1922.
