Harry Daughtry played 12 seasons in the minor leagues, from 1927 to 1932 and from 1935 to 1940. He hit .307 with 1,440 hits, 274 doubles, 44 triples and 51 home runs in 1,196 games. He hit over .300 in seven straight seasons (1932, 1935-1940), reaching a peak of .355 with the Mayodan Millers of the Bi-State League in 1938. In 1940, with the Martinsville Manufacturers, he tied Clyde Vollmer and Emmitt Johnson for the league Bi-State League in doubles with 45.

He also managed from 1937 to 1940, skippering the Mayodan Senators (1937), Mayodan Millers (1938-1939) and Martinsville Manufacturers (1939-1940). He led the manufacturers to a league championship in 1940.
