[edit] Biographical Information

Harry Arundel appeared in the majors in 1875, 1882 and 1884, in three different leagues, primarily as a pitcher.

As of 1891 it was said he was working as an agent for a Cleveland book firm.

Sporting News reported his death in 1904, and stated that he had gained "considerable fame" as one of the first pitchers to use a curve ball. Joe Ardner was quoted as remembering:

"Arundel came to this city (Cleveland) with me in 1879. We formed a rather lively battery in those days, for at that time the curve ball was a new thing."

The article went on to say that Harry was the son of a prominent lawyer who was still alive. After his ballplaying days, Harry had been an insurance agent.
