[edit] Biographical Information

Wolverton in 1912

Third baseman Harry Wolverton is the only major leaguer to come out of Kenyon College. He played seven seasons in the majors, making his debut with the 1898 Chicago Orphans and hitting .327 for them in 13 games. His best year was probably with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1903 when he hit .308 with 12 triples. When he managed the New York Highlanders in 1912 he also played on occasion, hitting .300 exactly.

Before managing the Highlanders, Wolverton managed the Oakland Oaks in 1910 and 1911. After his season with the Highlanders he went on to manage at Sacramento and San Francisco. Source: Harry Wolverton.
