Hank Camelli was a major league catcher from 1943 to 1947. He appeared in only 1 game in 1943 and 1945, while he had 125 at-bats in 1944, hitting .296 and another 246 at-bats in 1946 and 1947 after the war, hitting around .200 each year.
He made his major league debut on October 3, 1943, the same day that Gil Hodges broke in.
A 29-year-old rookie in 1944, he backed up 35-year-old Al Lopez on the wartime 1944 Pittsburgh Pirates who won 90 games and finished second in the league.
In 1947, he had the most at-bats in any one season in his career, while he backed up Phil Masi on the Boston Braves on a team that won 86 games and finished third in the league.
- He played for the 1936 Tyler Trojans and the 1938 Williamsport Crosscutters. In 1951 he was with St. Hyacinth in Canada.
