The Hall of Fame Standards Test is a Bill James creation to determine how deserving a player is to be a member of the Hall of Fame. The test gives a score of 50 for an average Hall of Famer and has a maximum of 100.
The metric uses a one-point addition scale based on career cumulative and rate stats.
The all-time leader in batting points is Babe Ruth at 78; Christy Mathewson leads in pitching points at 84.
