[edit] Biographical Information
Pitcher Hal White went 16-4 with the Buffalo Bisons of the International League in 1940. He made his big league debut with the Detroit Tigers the following season and in 1942 threw shutouts in the first two big league starts of his career.
White entered the Navy in January 1944 and was discharged in January 1946.
At age 80, White attended the final game at Tiger Stadium. He died of a stroke less than two years later.
