Hal Kurtz pitched in 28 games for the 1968 Cleveland Indians, in the heart of the second dead-ball era. The 1968 Indians, who went 86-75 on the year, had a team ERA of 2.66 which tied for best in the 1968 American League.
He played for Selma in 1962 and Dubuque in 1963-64.
The Great Book of Cleveland Sports Lists says he was a middle reliever "in the mold of Cliff Bartosh".
