[edit] Biographical Information

First baseman Guy Sturdy amassed 2546 hits in the minor leagues between 1920 and 1940, with 203 HR, 384 SB, and a .322 average. He led the 1922 Western Association with 67 steals and the 1926 Western League with 163 runs and 49 homers.

Sturdy was suspended for 90 playing days late in the 1938 season for an August 12 attack on an umpire, which carried over into the 1939 season.
