[edit] Biographical Information
Originally a catcher, Guy Conti was signed by the Houston Colt 45's and played a season for the Salisbury Braves in 1961. He played three seasons for independent teams and was converted to a pitcher, but retired after a shoulder injury.
After his playing career ended, he was a longtime minor league coach. From 1983-1986, he was in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization as a scout and coach.
Conti was the pitching coach for the Great Falls Dodgers (1990-1992), Bakersfield Dodgers (1988-1989, 1993-1994), Vero Beach Dodgers (1995-1996), and San Antonio Dodgers (1997). From 1986 to 1991 Conti was the Dodgers' roving minor league pitching coach. In 1998, he was the Dodgers minor league pitching coordinator.
Conti managed the Kingsport Mets in 1999. In 2000 he was the pitching coach for the Binghamton Mets. From 2001-2004 he was the New York Mets' minor league field coordinator. Since 2005, he has been bullpen coach of the Mets.
