[edit] Biographical Information

Outfielder Guy Curtright played nine seasons in the minors after graduating from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University) in 1934. After playing for the St. Paul Saints in 1942, he joined the Chicago White Sox the next year. In his first big league year, he set a rookie record with a 26 game hitting streak and led the American League in batting midway through the season. However, he soon trailed off and saw his playing time reduced as World War II came to a close. He was released by the Sox after the 1946 campaign.

Following his playing days, Curtright was a high school athletic director.
