[edit] Biographical Information
Grover Land was a catcher 25 years 1902 to 1926, seven in the Major Leagues and 21 in the minors.
He served in the U. S. Armed Forces during World War I (BN).
From 1908 through 1913 he played for the Cleveland Naps and from 1914 through 1915 with the Brooklyn Tip-Tops. He was a backup with Cleveland but became the first-string catcher with Brooklyn in the Federal League.
He lived in Phoenix AZ from 1921 until his death. He died at age 73 in the Veteran's Hospital in Phoenix and is buried at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix AZ.
His son, Grover Cleveland Land, Jr. was a T4 in the U. S. Army during World War II.
