Greg Keatley was a star at the University of South Carolina who set the record there for the longest hitting streak. He also appeared in the College World Series.
He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 5th round in 1976, spent some time in the minor league organizations of the Cubs, Tigers and Royals, and came up to the majors for two games as a catcher with the 1981 Kansas City Royals, whose regular catcher at the time was John Wathan.
