Greg Briley was signed as a 1st round pick (secondary phase) in the 1986 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners and scout S.E. "Rip" Tutor.
Briley was a coach in the Pittsburgh Pirates system from 1999 to 2007.
Briley pinch hit for Trevor Hoffman in Hoffman's big league debut.
