The Greensboro Bats played in the South Atlantic League for just over a decade. They began play in 1994 when the Greensboro Hornets became known as the Bats. After the 2004 season, the club was renamed the Greensboro Grasshoppers to coincide with their move to a new ballpark, First Horizon Park.
