[edit] Biographical Information

A better football coach than a baseball player, Greasy Neale coached college football in the baseball off-season. In his football career he coached in both the Rose Bowl and NFL Championship game. He was 78-55-11 in the college ranks and 71-48-6 in the NFL. He coached the Philadelphia Eagles to the 1948 and 1949 NFL titles. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

As a player, Neale hit .357 in the 1919 World Series, the series that is forever remembered for the Black Sox Scandal. After his playing career ended, he was a St. Louis Cardinals coach in 1929.
