[edit] Biographical Information
Grayson "Grace" Pierce played in the majors during 1882-1884. He mostly played second base and center field.
In 1886 he and Dasher Troy played for Elmira. He also umpired at least one game in the National League that year (on September 30th).
Sporting Life called him Grace but never Gracie.
In May 1894 he was said to be sick with a severe case of rheumatism.
"Grace Pierce, the 'original guff', is one of the 'water-yer-soy' umpires. He don't bluff worth a cent." - Sporting Life, Sept. 1, 1886
