Gonzalo Marquez went 5 for 8 in the 1972 postseason, including 3 for 5 in the World Series. His one career home run, on September 21, 1973 came off Steve Rogers of the Expos. He started the game at first base and went 1 for 4.
He played and managed for 19 years in the Venezuelan Winter League, primarily for the Caracas Leones (Lions). He had a lifetime batting average of .288 in 2,709 at bats.
