Geronimo Newton peaked at AA.

Newton was timed at 88 mph on the radar gun as a teenager, earning him a deal with the Seattle Mariners. He went 5-6 with a 3.37 ERA as a rookie for the 1992 DSL Mariners. In '93, he had a 1-4, 2.23 record and one save for the AZL Mariners. He split 1994 between the Bellingham Mariners (3-4, 2.10, 43 H, 36 BB in 60 IP) and Riverside Pilots (4 R in 8 IP). Had he qualified, he would have been second in the Northwest League in ERA. Newton went 4-4 with two saves and a 3.15 ERA out of the Riverside bullpen in 1995.

In 1996, Newton turned in a 4-1, 2.76 campaign for the Port City Roosters, good work in AA. Unfortunately, injury derailed his career and he only pitched four innings (all perfect, three saves) for the AZL Mariners in '97. He split 1998 between the Orlando Rays (4-1, 5.53 in 21 G) and Lancaster JetHawks (3-0, 2 Sv, 3.13 in 19 G). He split 1999 between the New Haven Ravens (2-1 with a 3.97 ERA) and the San Antonio Missions (0-1, 3.21). He was with the Santurce Crabbers when they won the 2000 Caribbean Series.

In the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games, Geronimo held the Panamanian national team to one run in nine innings but lost as he got no support in a duel against Alberto Acosta. He also lost to Puerto Rico, with 3 runs in 6 innings.
