George Zeber hit well in 1977 for the 1977 World Series champion 1977 New York Yankees, but he didn't have much chance of dislodging Willie Randolph from second base.
Maury Allen's book "Yankees: Where Have You Gone" devotes a chapter to Zeber.
Zeber missed the 1970-1971 seasons due to military service.
