The son of George Sisler and brother of Dave Sisler and Dick Sisler, George Sisler Jr. had a long career as a baseball executive.
He never played in the major leagues (unlike the other three), spending four years of limited playing time in the low minors.
Sisler was named business manager for the Albany Cardinals in 1940 [1]. He was the General Manager of the Rochester Red Wings for 11 years, during which time he was named Minor League Executive of the Year by The Sporting News in 1962.
From 1965 through 1976 he was president of the International League.
He stepped down in 1977 to become the general manager of the Columbus Clippers. As the Clippers GM, he was named Minor League Executive of the Year again in '77 and 1979, becoming the second three-time winner of that award and the only man to accomplish that feat with the higher-classifications (AA and AAA). He retired from the Columbus GM job after the 1989 campaign. In 2007 he was elected to the International League Hall of Fame.
