[edit] Biographical Information

George Davis was the son of a wealthy judge in Buffalo, New York. Between 1912 and 1915 he pitched in 36 games for the New York Highlanders and Boston Braves. Of the major-league pitchers who have thrown no-hitters, only Bobo Holloman (3) has fewer career victories than Davis (7).

After baseball, he returned to Harvard Law School, where he was enrolled while pitching his no-hitter for the "Miracle Braves" of 1914. He became a real estate attorney in Buffalo.
