George Creamer, one of five managers of the Pittsburgh Alleghenys in 1884, played seven seasons in the majors, mostly at second base. His best year with the bat was 1883.
"George Creamer, then a young bit of a fellow, was also brought from Philadelphia and put at short, which position he held in the remarkably fine style which characterized his playing in after years and up to the time he was compelled to leave the diamond on account of poor health." - Sporting Life's New Castle correspondent, in the February 17, 1886 issue
