On August 3, 1918, Gene Packard allowed 12 runs and did not lose the game. The next pitcher to do that in the majors would be Scott Feldman in 2008.
Packard was a 20-game winner during both years of the Federal League and also won in double figures a couple times in the National League.
In the minors, he pitched several years for Columbus. In 1912, he went 24-8 for them.
Through 2008 he is the only major leaguer with the last name Packard.
