Gene Michael was a light-hitting shortstop in the 1960s and 1970s. He was most famous for being an expert at pulling the hidden ball trick on unsuspecting opponents. He later was a manager and General Manager of the New York Yankees from 1980 to 1981 and again from 1990 to 1995.
