Gene Martin had a great cup of coffee with the 1968 Washington Senators, in the heart of the second dead-ball era. He hit .364 and slugged .727 in 9 games.
Martin missed the 1966 and 1967 seasons due to military service. He hit 189 home runs during his Japanese career, averaging one every 13.56 at bats.
