The Gateway Grizzlies joined the independent Frontier League in 2001. Since 2002, they have played their home games in GCS Ballpark (previously known as GMC Stadium) in Sauget, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. The Grizzlies captured the league championship in 2003.
