Gary Vaught has been a longtime coach.

Vaught began his college career at Connors State Junior College, going 305-57 from 1980-1984. They finished 9th in the country in 1984. He was head coach at Kansas State University in 1985-1986 and was named Big Eight Conference Coach of the Year in '85. He coached Oral Roberts University to a 114-66 record from 1986-1989.

Vaught took over the University of Indianapolis in 1995. He took his team to their first Division II College World Series, finishing third in 2000. Through 2009, his record at Indianapolis is 511-345-2.

He helped develop Mark Leiter, Bob Zupcic and Jim Crowell.
