Garry Jestadt played three seasons in the majors, mostly with the 1971-72 San Diego Padres. In 1971 he hit .291 in a league which hit .252.
He was a seventh-round draft pick in 1965 by the Chicago Cubs and spent 11 seasons in the minors, mostly with the Cubs but also with the organizations of Montreal, San Diego and San Francisco. In 1969, split between two minor league teams, he hit .312 with 10 triples and made his major league debut in September of that year.
After his major league days he played several seasons for Hawaii and Phoenix. In 1974 he hit .313 for Hawaii.
He played in Japan in 1975-76.
He currently works in an investment firm in Arizona.
