The 1981 GCL Padres were managed by Jim Zerilla and finished 25-38, 11th in the 12 team league. Ozzie Guillen made his pro debut for the Padres in 1981.
The 1982 version was a little better. The team was managed by Manny Crespo and was 29-34, 7th in the 10 team league. P Randy Coleman was named to the All-Star team.
