Outfielder Fuzz White spent sixteen years (1938-1953) in professional baseball with time out to spend four years (1942-1945) in the United States Army during World War II.
He had two short trials in the major leagues with the St. Louis Browns in 1940 and the New York Giants in 1947. Fuzz appeared in a total of nine big league games and hit 3-for-15 for a career .200 average. On November 1, 1946 he was drafted by the New York Giants from the St. Louis Browns in the 1946 Rule V Draft.
He spent twelve seasons in the minor leagues and was with the Toledo Mud Hens of the American Association in 1946 and 1947, where he hit .331 in '46 and .324 in '47. He had seven other years that he hit .300 or better and ended up playing in 1,165 minor league games with 33 home runs and a .308 career average.
After baseball Fuzz started his own construction business that he ran until his retirement. He died in Springfield, MO on April 24, 2003 at 86 years of age.
