[edit] Biographical Information
Catcher Fritz Buelow, born in Germany, played nine seasons in the major leagues. While he was a weak hitter, he was considered a good defensive player.
Buelow also played for the Minneapolis Millers in 1907-08.
Buelow was in the American League during its inaugural year as a major league in 1901.
Although Buelow never got more than 255 at-bats in a season, he was the first-string catcher in both 1901 and 1905, at a time when catchers didn't play as many innings.
Charlie Buelow, born in Iowa and apparently no relation to Fritz, was also in the majors in 1901. Charlie was an infielder in the National League.
