Freddy Sale appeared in one game for the 1924 Pirates at age 22. He gave up no runs in one inning of work.
Sale was at the University of Georgia from 1922-24, his time there overlapping with that of Nolen Richardson. While at the University of Georgia in 1923, Sale pitched a perfect game against the University of Virginia.
He pitched at Wilson in 1924-25, going 9-5 in 1924 and 11-8 in 1925.
