Infielder Fred Ocasio played 41 games for the Asheville Tourists in 1994, hitting .320/~.382/.410 and 14 games in 1995, hitting .308 with no extra base hits and three walks.
Ocasio began his coaching career with the AZL Rockies in 1998. After two years there, he spent one season with the Salem Avalanche. He became hitting coach of the Tri-City Dust Devils in 2001 and was promoted to manager of the club in 2006. In his first year at the helm, he led the team to a .500 mark.
