Fred Kuhaulua pitched 8 games in the major leagues. In his second cup of coffee, he was quite effective, posting a 2.45 ERA in 29 1/3 innings. Frank Howard was his manager that year, and only two pitchers on the staff - Rick Wise and John Curtis - were older than him.
As a batter, he got his only major league hit off of Phil Niekro.
He pitched for Chunichi in Japan for one season between his two major league seasons.
Kuhaulua's uncle, Levi Stanley, played football for the WFL's Hawaiians.
