Catcher Fred Jacklitsch played thirteen years in the majors, many of them with the Philadelphia Phillies. However, the most at-bats he had in a season was 337, with the 1914 Baltimore Terrapins in the Federal League.
Jacklitsch, who played almost all of his career in the dead-ball era, was good at drawing walks and had an on-base percentage that was more than 100 points higher than his batting average.
He was born and died in Brooklyn, where he also played major league baseball in 1903-04. He was coach of Rutgers University from 1926-1931.
